...and immediately the guys decided we were going to stop at Caesarea Maritima on the Mediterranean coast, rather than head straight to our little known monastery over by the Sea of Gallilee to get settled. Can you see where this is headed? The ruins of this ancient city were stupendous! The man-made harbor is still unbelievable, and the stadium for horse races is in pretty good shape for being 2000 years old. It was built by Herod the Great about 25 years before Jesus was born. We saw the remains of the room where Paul explained to Felix, Festus, Agrippa and Beatrice about Jesus. And sat in the seats where people watched gladiator games.
