Prep

for the Summer Classic is in full force!

I met a friend at Walmart today....

and as we looked at these clouds she talked about some difficulties in her life - it hasn't been an easy life- but she ended by saying she was going to trust that God is giving her what she needs.  She mentioned how grateful she is for her husband.
I was blessed.

A little project...

...to spruce the place up.  The pruning of the forsythia makes things feel a little bare around here.

We are in search of a few more bricks to complete the circle.

Getting ready...

...for the summer Classic.  Lots of folks are helping!

Boys...

Gen 48:15,16
15 Then he blessed Joseph and said,
"May the God before whom my fathers
       Abraham and Isaac walked,
the God who has been my shepherd
all my life to this day,
16 the Angel who has delivered me from all harm
       —may he bless these boys.
May they be called by my name
and the names of my fathers Abraham and Isaac,
       and may they increase greatly
       upon the earth."

Does this happen in your life?

A couple weeks after we acquired this stair-stepper from the Hogans yard sale you see what has happened.  This photo was not staged.
It makes me think how I hope our Bibles are not sitting on a shelf somewhere gathering dust.

Luke 11:28
He replied, "Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it."

Her own idea....

Beth loves to help.

2 Tim 4:11
Get Mark and bring him with you, because he is helpful to me in my ministry.

And from Morocco....

..friends of Emily and Matt came to visit.  They are 2 years into a 5 year stint in Morocco under the umbrella of World Harvest Mission.  Their 3 children are about the age of the Bonners' kids.
We're all one family in the faith.

Gal 6:10
Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.

For those of you who ask...

about Craig and Hannah, here's a newer photo of them on a hike,
and one of the hospital records room.
I think they need Lenora over there.

...not to mention...

other acts of kindness on a hot summer afternoon....

Kindness

Don't you feel like it's easy to see a reflection of God's goodness on any given day?
Shannon offered to give the grandkids horse rides today - they had such a good time.

Ruth 1:8
May the LORD show kindness to you, as you have shown... to me.

Yard Sale!

Emily and Moshe Dale introduced several of us to the Cabbage Flats yard sales - a massive amount of households on Rt 88 host sales all on the same day, with food available too.
Lucy Scott, Nancy Truntich and Heather Wise and family all had tables there, and we ran into other shoppers from JBC - it was hot and crowded, but a lot of fun.
Look what we found!
Do you think our church should host a sale once a year?

Back from Camp Carmel

Chad, Jen and family are back from Camp Carmel.  They took  quite a few youth with them, and had a wonderful and significant week!

Fiasco to fiesta

We found the church freezer wide open - and all the contents defrosted - oh no!
So we had a picnic lunch with friends and lots of hamburgers, hotdogs and bratwurst.

Another Ad for the Summer Classic -

The huge forsythia bush

near the parsonage is beginning to get a much needed trim.
John 15:2   ... every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.

Painting the arrows for the 5K and fun run...

...for the summer classic, which takes place on Saturday, July 31st.
Encourage your friends and neighbors to come!
There are forms for 3 on 3 basketball teams etc. in the church on the small table in the center of the Ed Building.
Grandpa is painting the arrow outlines and Asa is filling them in.  The rest are the support crew.

Business Meeting

We got our business done pretty quickly, as usual, at our quarterly meeting.

Isn't Janice wearing a lovely star hat?  We're grateful for her fine work as our treasurer.

the 24 year old...

had a lovely birthday yesterday because so many friends gave her calls - she even got a call from Norway and one from Kenya!
Then when we got home she had several cards too!
Every birthday we reflect on God's grace in Bethany's life and our lives.
In this photo she's with Uncle Chris from Bryn Athyn, another of her favorite men.

Hebrews 13:9
It is good for our hearts to be strengthened by grace...

We're back!

...from a great week at Cape May with most of the family, and a niece's wedding in my home town that John performed.
Here's my mom, Babbie, with my granddaughter Samara.  I love seeing the generations get to know each other.
That's something about our church that I treasure too, that we have all ages in our church family.  That's such a blessing.
