Warm weather!

...got us out in the sun today, the last day of 2010!
John and other church folks helped the Bates family move today, but I wasn't there to take photos.

Happy New Year!

For our last day with family visiting we went ice skating and then had a New Year's Eve party a day and 3 hours early!
Talia won the hat contest.

Pittsburgh Art Museum

I enjoyed a trip to the Art Museum all by myself!

“Send me, therefore, a man skilled to work in gold and silver, bronze and iron, and in purple, crimson and blue yarn, and experienced in the art of engraving, to work in Judah and Jerusalem with my skilled workers, whom my father David provided."
2 Chron 2:7

Christmas at the Dales' farm

Some of us went ice skating! Talk about wobbly!
Grandma Wigington helped set the table.
Jon Coote carved the ham.

Christmas Eve Service

Living in adversity

I can't help but be heartened as I walk by a plant still green and vibrant even in the snow.
If you're having a hard day, take some encouragement.

2 Thess: 16,17

May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

An hour later....

...I found these fellows setting up the luminaries and candles for tomorrow night.  Nice job Timmy, Gregory and John!

Christmas Eve Eve

I found Rick weatherizing the church front door by adding a metal strip.  He was up to cutting out a notch for the kickstand.

It's a cold, overcast day with snow flurries off and on.

Cookies

Christmas in the 1940's

That's my mother on the R and my father 2nd from the L. My two older brothers are the children.  I look a bit like my grandmother to the L.

Sunset in Jefferson
Our creche this year - the fabric reminds me of Van Gogh.

They keep me laughing...

...that would be Charlene and Pat.  Today they were trying to break up a solid bag of sugar.  It doesn't take much for them to have fun.

Emily and Moshe stopped by on a Greene County errand day.  What a treat!

And finally, one of the baby quilts our church makes and gives out to newborns.  This one is for Renne.  Nice work, ladies!

A walk...

... in Jefferson, by the old graveyard.  Some of the headstones are impossible to read due to weathering - I wonder if anyone has records?

"Toisa" is a name I've never heard.

Advent Calendar

Beth and I are enjoying this advent calendar.  It's a replica of one presented to then General Eisenhower after the end of WWII from Germany.

Tis the Season!

We welcomed some new members at church yesterday!
Be sure to notice the terrific Christmas banner made by Leslie Fehling, as well as the other one behind the piano.  Such a gift for our church.
Can you guess where in Jefferson you can see this cute display?
It's at the home of one of our church members....
