church today

I  didn't take many photos today, but it was a day full of church activities, including small groups and youth group.  It's especially nice to have Roy and Marilyn here with us for a little longer.  Roy says it's funny to see snow when he knows in 3 weeks or so they will be living in temperatures in the nineties in Burkina Faso.

The parsonage heating system needed some help from Dave Franks today.  Thank goodness he could help!

John and Larry took the old oven up to Lucy Scott's place today.

Snow!

... and it's still coming down....

It looks more like Christmas than almost Halloween around here!

Herodian

So we want to make it to the Herodian this day, but it's too far to walk, so we take a taxi....

...but only after much haggling over the price on the phone with someone who can speak English

This was the day Shannon received two comments about being a teenager.  Really.

We are nearing the end of our last day in Israel

Rainy Fall Thursday

While Lenora works in her office on the bulletin and many other things, and John works in his office, and Allen puts in some time on the new website, and folks practice piano for upcoming special music, and people type up minutes from meetings, and look up Bible passages, and maybe go to visit someone in the nursing home or hospital, or walk to the post office to send a card to a shut-in, or spend some time praying, or collect more shoes boxes to hand out on Sunday, or work on memorizing their lines for the Christmas play, or line up drivers for the next youth group activity, or do countless other church related activities that I don't photograph,
here's what Beth and I saw today:
All the folks at JMES were making a youtube video!  It was highly entertaining to watch - apparently you have to do it without editing, with only two takes, and in 5 minutes or something like that.  So they had practiced and this was their final take - we saw people in orange running everywhere, cheering and dancing and one fellow with an ipod or something running through the activity filming it.

You should be able to see it on youtube today.

we found this on the floor after it was all over
