Food in Israel

We had falafels almost every day, or schwarma if you wanted meat.

Charlie's favorite place to eat was at roadside stands.  Here we had tortillas spread with some kind of cheese  with a few spices on top.

This may have been our only fancy dinner - you're looking at hummus served with pitas as appetizer.   Some of us had "St. Peter's fish" here at Ein Gev Kibbutz.

Every breakfast was the same - yogurt with tomatoes and cucumbers, rolls with butter and jam, cheese and meat, and dates.  You're right.  This breakfast was different - the one time we were served boiled eggs.  John managed to make a hoagie for his breakfast every day.

Another falafel/shwarma stand

We bought bread many days - lovely.

YUM - especially the shwarmas (I'm very familiar with the Lebonese kebabs)and all the hummus, yogurt and rolls are lovely too.
