VBS Day 3 again

It's a fun day!  You should drop by and enjoy the happiness.

VBS Day 3

Making t-shirts using handprints - quite a process!

We're donating the money we raise at VBS to "Plant with a Purpose", to plant trees in Africa!

One more thing...

...on the pastor's plate today - painting the lines for the Fall  Summer Classic basketball courts.
Here you see his faithful crew of Chris and Dave Bates and Bethany Dorean,

 the tools of the trade,

and the finished product.   They did an especially nice job on the starting line for the 5 K and the kid's run.

Thanks guys!

VBS Day 2

Here is a smattering of photos from Tuesday's VBS.  We even had a Habitat group from New York working with us this morning.  We had about 70 kids and 40 some helpers!

VBS has begun!

Here we are again with all these cute kids and great teachers and support folks, enjoying being together learning about God.  VBS is the best !

Esther is carrying the penny jars - even after one day you can see the GIRLS are ahead!
Looks like pastor Dorean may have to walk the plank!

Rhetta doesn't want her photo taken, George is cooperative, and Chad puts up with it.   : )

The heavens are telling...

...the glory of God.

Psalm 19:1
The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.

VBS tomorrow!

A giant mast is in place for our High Seas Expedition starting at 9 am!

Wedding in Ohio

The preacher and family went off to Ohio on Friday for Brandi Ankney's wedding - lots of Jefferson folks were there, like Dan and LInda Moore, John, Cindy and AJ Curtis, Ron and Karen Headlee, and Ron, Rita, Emily and Justin Falcon.
Beth enjoyed all the company, especially all the men in tuxes.

Song of Solomon 3:11
Come out, you daughters of Zion, and look at King Solomon wearing the crown, the crown with which his mother crowned him on the day of his wedding, the day his heart rejoiced.

A new roof

for my birdfeeder.  The good pastor managed to fit this into his busy day.

We'll miss the Grace Lutheran folks when they leave tomorrow.  Here Dave Calvario stopped by to see them.

Soon to be grandma!

Looks like things are starting to happen for Megan....
This may be Lenora's last day as a non-grandma.

Backdrop progress...

1 John 1:7
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.

Trees for Father's Day

Kable and Emily Dale provided  a tree for each father for Father's Day this year.

Levi Shaffer (far left with back to camera) won the award for the father with the youngest child present.
Charlie Barno (shown in the parking lot with his tree) won for the father with the oldest child present.
Buddy Hawk won for the father with the oldest child present who is still living at home.

Kable proves that he is one of the strongest fathers present, and Charlie Anderson proves that he is a kind one.
We're grateful for all our fathers!
