Abraham's gate

The town called Dan (earlier Laish) up here at the northern tip of Israel is part of the area that the tribe of Dan conquered and settled in.  This is the town above the springs of the Dan River that were in the last Israel post.  Here you see the gate to the town, the northern entrance.  This gate is from about 1700 years before Christ. It remains intact  and is one of the oldest complete arches in the world.  They say Abraham is almost certain to have walked through this gate.

A familiar sight - someone checking out what the Bible says about the place where we're standing, in this case, at Abraham's gate.

...and back to modern Israel - signs warning of mines
