Israel - Jerusalem 2

This is the Garden of Gethsemane, where Jesus was praying the night he was betrayed.

The olive trees here are estimated to be around 3,000 years old, so they would have been old when he knew them. 
See the Old City walls up there?  To show you how close Gethsemane is to it.

In the wall you see the eastern Golden Gate.  Some think this is the Beautiful Gate mentioned in Scripture.  Ottoman Sultan Suleiman I sealed off the Golden Gate in 1541 to prevent the Messiah's entrance, says Wikipedia.
 "Then the man brought me back to the outer gate of the sanctuary, the one facing east, and it was shut. 2 The LORD said to me, “This gate is to remain shut. It must not be opened; no one may enter through it. It is to remain shut because the LORD, the God of Israel, has entered through it."   Ez 44:1-2
