Little Italy

Have you seen the Neroni farm out beyond Mather?  It's been in the family since Damon's grandparents settled here from Italy with their big family.
Damon and Esther have put in a sidewalk!

...and added a small room and porch...

There's a spring that used to flow through the milk house.

...as well as a new tool shed...

Now there's a bathroom on the main floor...

...and a hidden washer and drier...

...as well as new kitchen cabinets...

This set of shelves used to be a window.

Damon's grandfather sold milk from their cows.  See "Neroni" on the bottle?

...a photo of his grandfather and the milk wagon...

Damon's grandparents, from Italy

Not your usual bathroom colors!

Sign

Yesterday Charlie Anderson and Jim Townsend put up the sign - looks nice, huh?

Israel - alternative site for Golgotha

Outside the walls of the Old City, but right across the street by the bus station, is an alternate site for the crucifixion and burial of Jesus.
This diagram show the inside of the tomb we're about to walk into that fits the description in the Bible
You see the channel for the stone that was rolled to cover the opening

The British have oversight of this area and have made lovely garden spots with places for groups to have communion

Above the bus you can see a face looking at you - "the place of the skull", which is the meaning of Golgotha

It was amazing to be here and think of all that took place long ago, if not exactly here, then nearby.
